Stony Brook University - Bachelors, Math/Applied Math and Statistics

My main goal in tutoring math is to show my students the beauty in math and to debunk many misconceptions about it. So many students find it tedious and difficult, which is often just the result of the teachers and students not communicating well. I solve these big problems by having one-on-one sessions that tackle math problems from different angles. The best feeling as a tutor is the moment when your student suddenly gets the information they used to struggle with. As far as education and professional experience, I have both. I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Math and Statistics. Right now I am studying for the FM and P tests in Actuarial Sciences. I was on a math team for many years and I also attended many math competitions. Additionally, I have tutored in informal and formal settings in many math subjects, including calculus and algebra. When I am not teaching math, I enjoy music. I feel the two subjects go hand-in-hand. My love for both of these topics has helped me appreciate each subject more separately. Don't hesitate to contact me today so we can start working as a team to help your child succeed.
