Experience
I earned my undergraduate degree in philosophy and neuroscience from Columbia University. I have worked extensively as private tutor with students of all ages. My intention is to eventually become a researcher and professor in both psychology and the sciences. I now tutor students in a wide variety of subject areas, including algebra 1 & 2, AP U.S. government and politics, geometry, AP world history, elementary math, writing, middle school math, pre-calculus, algebra 3/4, life sciences, statistics, AP Spanish literature and culture, pharmacology, trigonometry, AP United States History, Spanish 1 & 2, biology, geography, chemistry, philosophy, physics, science, social studies, IB social and cultural anthropology, IB theory of knowledge, languages, phonics, public speaking literature, English grammar and syntax, and pre-algebra. I also enjoy helping students prepare for standardized exams such as the SAT and PSAT. I have a passion for education and I believe students have the most academic success when they are able to develop an authentic curiosity in a specific subject but also an independent interest in learning as a whole. In addition to teaching my students specific skills and techniques relevant to the area they are studying, I also work to develop this critical interest even in subjects which have previously seemed uninteresting or intimidating to the student.
