Experience
I'm a retired Ivy League professor looking to share what I've learned over the years to help students improve their skills. I know students learn better when they're having fun, so I help students make progress by building on their strengths and focusing on their areas of opportunity. I also help students reduce stress and anxiety about exams and writing assignments by guiding them in skill building and preparation. My students tell me that I am laid back and easy to connect with, and that I'm very effective in helping them learn. I'm looking forward to helping students learn new things as a tutor. Courses I can tutor include algebra, pre-calculus, English, writing, essays, English grammar, history, ESL, Mandarin Chinese, and test preparation for the GRE, PSAT, SAT, MCAT, TOEFL, and others. In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano and classical and choral music.
