Experience
I currently work as an educator and director in New York City. As an educator, I've had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of students with different needs and learning styles. This helped me learn how to come up with creative teaching strategies designed to help them build upon their current strengths and overcome various challenges that they face in the classroom. My experience in education has given me the opportunity to work with gifted students, pupils with learning disabilities, and troubled youth. Regardless of the type of student I worked with, I found that everyone appreciates a classroom with hands-on activities and plenty of learning resources. I am of the opinion that the best way to connect with a student is to reach out to them on a personal level and get to know their interests and preferred learning styles. For this reason, I prefer to teach using the student-centered approach that puts the needs of the individual first and foremost. While I've had the experience of tutoring in a number of different subjects, I love teaching about writing the most. From helping students write persuasive essays to teaching them how to sharpen their poetry and creative writing skills, I enjoy teaching about all aspects of writing.
