I earned my undergraduate degree from Bard College in economics. I now specialize in tutoring subjects in the field of mathematics, including algebra 1 & 2, calculus 1-3, differential equations, geometry, microeconomics, macroeconomics, middle school math, pre-calculus, business, statistics, trigonometry, economics, arithmetic, algebra 3/4, pre-algebra, statistics, French 1 & 2, physics, business, languages, and science. I tutor similar subjects for AP students and college students and also work with students who are preparing for standardized exams such as the SAT. My inspiration for teaching is derived primarily from my experiences as a student. It was common for me to like a subject simply because the teacher was likable. The very best teachers have a talent for taking any subject matter, no matter how tedious or boring, and making it interesting and easily accessible. It is my goal to do just that with each and every one of my students. Unfortunately, there are many teachers out there who were unfriendly or simply uninterested in their subject or me as a student, and I have worked with many students that have had similar encounters. It is my intent to support these students, and those who are struggling despite the best efforts of their classroom teacher, and help them reach their academic potential.
