Previous tutoring experience: currently working with Americorps in Rockaway, NY rebuilding homes that were destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. I'm using my carpentry/construction experience to teach new and existing Americorps members various trades (rough/finish carpentry, painting, siding, HVAC, basic electrical and plumbing and tool/workplace safety). SAT scores: I'll find them - just have to dig through some stuff. Why? I want to be a tutor because I enjoy helping others and I feel I have the know-how to do so. Relevant classes: All the usual classes in high school plus Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, II, III and IV, Differential Equations, Physical Geography, Intro to Geology, Oceanography, Meteorology, Dynamic Meteorology I and II, Climatology, General Physics I, II and III, and Thermodynamics from college. Hobbies

I love to read and because I commute an hour each way to Rockaway for my Americorps work, I am burning through books. My favorite authors are John Grisham, Carl Hiaasen and Stephen King. I also exercise pretty regularly at the gym or outdoors, weather permitting, of course. I'm not a work-out nut, but I definitely advocate exercising and healthy eating. That being said, I really enjoy cooking. My mom loves to cook and has taught me a few things around the kitchen. And I am a huge fan of cats and dogs - I'd say dogs more than cats - but I won't discriminate.
