Experience
I am a New York City-based educator with years of specialized experience in American and Latin American History both as an instructor and published author. I have experience tutoring students learning English as a second language as well as assisting in improvement of expository writing processes. I earned a bachelor's in history and urban studies from Hampshire College and a master's in education and history from New York University. I am currently pursuing a PhD in American History. I have written prolifically for several area nonprofit organizations, including the Brooklyn Historical Society and Hudson River Parks Trust, and contributed to the American Jewish Desk Reference. I also wrote a book series on the history of New York City and completed research for film documentaries. I have instructed a collegiate level history course and held tenure as a dean at CUNY. I have also been involved in the writing of several reports on education advances in the city. I look forward to bringing my substantial skills to a tutoring role and help students advance their history-based learning. In my off time I enjoy reading.
