Johns Hopkins University - Bachelors, European History
Experience
A Johns Hopkins University graduate who earned an undergraduate degree in European history, I have lots of experience tutoring students in social studies and SAT mathematics. After graduating with my B.A. in 2013, I went on to spend a year, 2014 through to 2015, serving as a full-time tutor in Massachusetts. My primary task was assisting students so that they were ready to successfully do the math and ELA sections of the MCAS standardized exam.In addition, I have served as a tutor for New York-based students in medieval history. I'm also very passionate about tutoring in geography and history, and the enthusiasm I have for these topics is shared with the people I help. European history is actually my favorite topic to teach, but I also derive satisfaction from tutoring in all aspects of social studies and math.As someone who believes in the value of improving one's self through a good education, I aim to help my students to have productive academic careers. In fact, it's hard to beat the great feeling I experience whenever I'm able to help my students learn complex subjects, grow in self-confidence, and take a greater interest in the learning process.Outside of work, I enjoy reading a good book and playing chess.
