I enjoy helping others realize the reward of hard work and determination, and the sense of confidence they can tap into to accomplish anything they choose to do. I have extensive experience working with a variety of students from all ages and skill levels and for me, one of the highlights of tutoring is connecting individually with students and getting to know them and their backgrounds. This is an invaluable component of teaching, as this is a profession that requires flexibility to adapt approaches in lesson presentation to meet varying needs of students while still maintaining the integrity of the subject matter. I speak four languages fluently, and two more at foundation levels. Language is my strength and I encourage my students to remember that when you succeed at learning one new language, it is easier to learn another. There are grammatical rules and nuances that are common to every language and with that foundation in place, building the rest around it becomes more manageable. I am very well-traveled and have also lived in many countries whose language I speak. This adds another critical element to my teaching, as I bring a thorough knowledge of culture to my lessons as well. Relating language to an area's way of life offers a very detailed look at the people, which in turn advances knowledge.
