My extensive education and ample experience in the field of teaching has taught me that once a child's unique personality and learning style is appealed to, it is possible to help students realize that what they once viewed as their least favorite subject could easily become a new source of passion in their life. The moments when I see a child's eyes brimming with eager focus as they use a part of their mind that they have never used before are the moments I live for as a tutor. I recently graduated from Sarah Lawrence College, where I studied Theater, Literature, Language, and History. Even since high school, I have always done well in the areas of History, Chemistry, and English, and these are subjects I love to teach. In terms of tutoring experience, I have tutored students in 5th grade in test preparation and homework, and I have helped high school students study various levels of mathematics. Since high school, I have valued every minute of my stimulating career as a freelance tutor. Along with mathematics, another one of my specialties is preparing my students for standardized tests. Although these can be daunting experiences, I am able to turn it into a game for my students, and the strategies I have for taking these tests ensure that anyone can achieve their goal score.
