I attended Princeton University where I acquired my bachelor's degree in English. Currently, I am studying for my MFA at Columbia University. I did not always have a passion for learning. In fact, my love for learning started as a high school freshman where I finally had a teacher that showed me that learning could be fun and interesting. Thanks to that teacher, I began to express an interest in great books, and I even began to find some humor in the material I was reading.While I have had academic success, I have also had professional success. I have served as an editor for a number of popular magazines. Working as an editor has taught me that written communication is just as important as verbal communication. I strive to sharpen my skills day in and day out. As for my tutoring and teaching style, I believe in being patient and emphatic. I understand that each student faces his/her own difficulties. It is my responsibility to help them overcome these difficulties and blocks. I also understand that frustration is inevitable while learning new material or while learning complicated material. It is also my responsibility to teach my students in a way that they will not begin to feel stressed or overwhelmed.
