Experience
What makes me a great tutor are my excellent communication skills. I can explaining difficult concepts or mathematical procedures with colloquial ease and patience. I was able to put my talent to use in the summer of 2013, when I served as the Homework Help supervisor at the mental health clinic at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center, where I helped mentally disabled children ages 6-17 with their homework. I also tutored a graduate student for several months while still an undergrad. As a tutor, my job is not merely to break down difficult concepts, but to challenge students to use their own ingenuity to figure out difficult tasks and overcome challenges. Unlike other tutors who may have a one-size-fits-all approach to tutoring, I understand that every student is an individual and deserves undivided and specialized attention to help them grow.
