I have degrees in English literature, both bachelor's and master's, from East Carolina University and Middle Tennessee State University. While in college, I worked with students to provide them with tools to improve their literary skill. I have also worked with students to increase reading comprehension through introduction to a number of texts.I like teaching college and high school students. I have taught English to freshmen, and worked as a graduate assistant in the writing center at my university. My strengths are in helping students as they work on writing projects at any step in the process, whether editing, writing a rough draft, researching, outlining, or brainstorming. I also like to help ESL students as they work on reading comprehension, writing, and conversational skills. In addition, I help students who are preparing for the GMAT and GRE.I teach English, ESL/ELL, reading, writing, essay editing, literature, grammar and mechanics, college essays, public speaking, Latin 1-4, and French 1-2.In my free time, I like teaching, writing, and reading literature of every genre. In addition to reading literature, I am also interested in Modernism, Romanticism, the Renaissance, critical theory, rhetoric, and composition.
