I'm an experienced teacher with a Master's of Science in Education from Bank Street College. In addition to five years of lead teaching experience, I have tutored at both the elementary and middle school levels. With elementary school students, I teach fundamental strategies that will help your struggling reader become more fluent while developing a love of reading. I also use an interactive approach to teaching math that that supports and encourages understanding. Through work with hands on manipulatives, interactive activities, and math games, your student will not only do better in school, but will better understand relationships between math concepts. Building strong foundational skills in math and reading is essential to success later on in school. I aim to help students become more confident, competent, and self-sufficient through teaching strategies that promote critical thinking, independence, and above all, a love of learning.
