Experience
I began my academic journey in high school where I was recognized as both a National AP Scholar and a National Merit Scholar. Following high school graduation, I earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Lewis and Clark College. While working toward completing my degree, I tutored students on a variety of topics. The college's tutoring department hired me to help students with statistics, English as a second language, and general chemistry. I also served as a teacher's assistant for a methodology course that was part of the political science department's curriculum. As a teacher's assistant, I helped students grasp concepts in the areas of statistical analysis and quantitative theory. Additionally, I was an integral part of Lewis and Clark College's math help center. In its first semester, I worked with students on polishing their math skills for subjects that included statistics, pre-calculus, and geometry. As a teacher, I'm driven by the difficult task of making concepts easier for both my students and me to understand. My favorite measure of success is seeing a student's moment of clarity in his or her eyes after solving a challenging math problem.Outside of the classroom, I enjoy writing, reading, baking, exploring the city, and cooking.
