I studied Piano Performance at the Thornton School of Music in California. Playing the piano and singing are two loves of mine, and I am happy to get to teach students how to play. I also attended Portland State University and earned a couple Bachelor of Arts degrees. My degrees are for Music and English. I participated in the Honors Program. I am also certified to teach English to middle school and high school grade levels, from 7th to 12th. I earned my master's degree in teaching for the English language from Brooklyn College.While I once taught in the New York City public school system, I now work as a freelancer. I tutor students in various subjects, work as a book editor, and am even a musician. I have worked with countless students in Music classes. I enjoy watching students get excited about their work, and I love seeing them come up with creative ideas. I work with students on details of their work, such as grammar and sentence structure, but I also assist them with seeing the big picture.Although teaching Piano and Music Theory are favorites of mine, I also greatly enjoy tutoring in English, Literature, Reading, and Writing. I also work with students on Test Prep and various SAT skills so they are better prepared for their futures.
