Experience
As a scholar and teacher, my focus has always been writing and reading. I have a passion for understanding and expressing ideas in a way that is easy for others to understand. I have chosen to become a tutor because I want to share this passion with my students. Not only is the ability to interpret and communicate ideas an art, but it is also an extremely useful tool in the professional world. As a tutor, it is my responsibility to prepare my students for success and help them find what interests them. For this reason, I use literature as a medium through which my students can explore and understand the world around them. I have experience teaching English as a second language in Ecuador. Additionally, I helped students at North Seattle Community College at the adult level with creative writing and speaking skills. Most recently, last year I was a teaching assistant for an elementary school class at Garfield Elementary. I am currently in my senior year at Evergreen State College. I have almost earned a bachelor's degree in writing and literature. My minor is in visual art. In my free time, I enjoy reading philosophy, adventuring to museums, and listening to music.
