I earned my bachelor's degree in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy. I then went on to earn my PhD and an Honors Degree in Political Science. While going to doctorate school, I tutored and taught a broad spectrum of political subjects dealing with government issues, like international relations, popular culture, structures of power, and public policy. My expertise in tutoring, however, is essay writing. I have helped graduate students prepare for the written portion of the entrance exam to medical school; run workshops on writing essays; and wrote, assessed, and edited hundreds of written materials and essays. My passion for essay writing, I believe, is where individuals find their own creativity and voice. My teaching style is about building confidence and bringing out the best in each person. I believe that the individual needs to be the central focus for their learning process, which in turn helps them to open up to new knowledge and ideas. I make each session engaging and fun, and I allow the student to set their own pace. I have gotten great reviews from students that I have tutored previously. I provide each individual with methods to communicate their concepts and the right tools to learn. I try to instill a passion for thinking and learning in my students, so they are able to bring out their own distinct desires and talents.
