Experience

An aspiring med school student, I have a degree in Biochemistry from a school in northwestern Pennsylvania. At my college, I was chosen to be a tutor in many subjects, such as Math, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. I instructed these topics for at least a year or more, each. Every time the department chairs approached me to ask if I'd like to tutor, I always agreed, readily. I find so much joy in this kind of work. Whenever I realize that I have helped someone get back on the track to achieving their goals, my heart is warmed.I like to know how things work. I don't simply desire to find an answer, I want to know the reasoning of a process, too. So, I try to inspire that same inquisitive mindset in my students. My method of instruction involves breaking down concepts into parts and teaching each portion, one at a time. By the end of a few sessions with me, a person should know how to give the explanation behind their solution. It may seem like I have no life outside of education, but I do. I have an affinity for the piano. In fact, my dual major in college was Piano Performance. I am also an environmental activist.
