Experience
I have had the pleasure of tutoring many different types of students over the years. With an undergraduate degree in economics and a minor in French, I have an appreciation for the intricacies of both math and language. I mainly tutor students in college test preparation, as well as college-level statistics, because these are both very difficult areas. However, I can also tutor in elementary and middle school math, as well as the many varieties of high school math like calculus and trigonometry. I also tutor students in French, biology, economics, social studies, languages, English writing and mechanics, and many other school subjects. Many students are put off by how complex test taking can seem, but that isn't the case at all. Especially on the math portion of standardized tests, students just have to learn the patterns, and they can quickly fill in the right answers without a second guess. Math involves breaking down patterns into simpler patterns, and I use this methodology to better understand my students as individuals, so I can help them learn. I have worked with a wide age range of students, from elementary schoolers who needed help on their math homework, to adults who received certificate degrees for environmental conservation, to swim instruction.
