I'm capable of teaching to a wide breadth of levels, including non-native speakers. I'll help you with every aspect of the English language, including grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing skills, and academic editing and proofreading. My objective in tutoring is to help all students - whether native speakers or non - to develop a better understanding of the language, and to be able to read, write, and speak effectively and confidently. I focus on finding areas of strength as well as potential areas for progress, whether they be grammar-based or more dynamic in nature. I'm also personally interested in literature, and helping students of all ages appreciate great literary works. I've also worked as a freelance editor, editing both academic and creative writing. I hold a B.A. in English, and am halfway through a master's program in education, specializing in English education for grades 7-12. Additionally, I have classroom teaching experience at the high school level, focusing on English and ESL. I speak fluent French and Portuguese, and am conversant in Spanish.
