My passion is science, which is why I am glad to be a science tutor. Although my first undergraduate degree was in Film Studies, I went on to receive a pre-med degree. I also began my tutoring and teaching career in high school, and now I teach in the Chemistry Department of Hunter College part-time. I specialize in chemistry, biology, and SAT preparation, which I know are all difficult subjects for many students. I focus on these because I have seen my fellow peers, throughout high school and into college, struggle with these areas. I plan to go to medical school, but I very much enjoy teaching in addition to my other studies. I discovered that science and medicine are my passions later in life than many who choose medical school as a career path, so I had to figure out very quickly how I could learn the material. I use this information about myself to help my tutoring students find their own study skills. This is a major component of successfully going to college and continuing to learn afterward, and I want my students to understand how to be lifelong learners.
