I am an experienced tutor who also has a great love of film making. I tutor many subjects, but my passions are history, English, and literature. As a tutor, I have helped develop a love of reading in many of my students who didn't enjoy the activity in the past. In addition, I recently educated myself on test preparation skills, and I now feel that I have the teaching skills needed to help students prepare for tests, including the SAT, ACT, PSAT, GRE, and many others. I believe that education is all about practice and that any student can improve their grades or test scores when are willing to put in enough time practicing.I attended Oberlin College where I earned a degree in Film and Comparative Literature. During my career, I have produced dozens of short films and pieces of video art. I have also helped produce independent documentaries, and I worked in the television industry with Major League Baseball Productions. In addition, I have helped various activists create films and videos to help get their important messages out there, and I worked with a micro-cinema in New York. A recent accomplishment of mine not related to film, involved orchestrating retreats for young adults where we worked on their personal growth and helped them learn about politics. Aside from film making, I also enjoy meditating and reading.
