Private tutor in Brooklyn, NY
Cornell University - BA, Spanish , American University - MA, Education
I am a tutor with experience teaching both Spanish and English as a second language. My teaching career started in Baltimore, where I taught at the Academy for College and Career Exploration Charter School. From there, I moved to Washington, DC and taught Spanish at Luke C. Moore High School. I also spent a year in China teaching English as a second language. As for my education, I attended Cornell University and earned a B.A. in Spanish from the school. Later, I studied at New York University, where I earned an M.A. in Spanish Language Translation and American University, where I completed my M.A. in Teaching degree. As for my experience as a tutor, I have worked in community centers, after school programs, summer programs, and childcare centers in New York state, Baltimore, and Spain, helping children to meet the demands of their school curriculum. Because of my experience and education, I am able to help in subjects like Spanish, English, reading, grammar, and phonics. I believe that once students are completely immersed in a language, they have a much better chance of picking it up. For that reason, I encourage my children to use their target language constantly in order to improve their skills.
