Education

University at Buffalo - BA, Classics (cum laude) 12 graduate credits in Latin education Fr. Reginald Foster's Advanced Latin program in Rome Program in ancient Greek pronunciation and performance with leading scholar on the subject

Experience

I have over 10 years of experience tutoring all levels of Latin and Greek, as well as expository writing. I love sharing the various tools, tricks, and explanations I have learned over the years to help others grasp Latin or Greek grammar and syntax better and by doing so get more pleasure from their experience. Passed Massachusetts MTEL- teacher licensure test for secondary education in Latin Experience tutoring AP Latin, SAT II Latin, and the National Latin and Greek exams. Familiar with many different textbooks and approaches for teaching the languages. I like to create my own additional practice sentences for my students to reinforce challenging topics and provide additional support. I also always aim to solicit and incorporate feedback from students in my sessions. is a native Brooklynite who began taking Latin as part of the humanities program at Midwood High School. Inspired by a wonderfully passionate, fun, but rigorous teacher and determined to continue his studies after he completed the highest level of Latin offered by his school, Bradley enrolled in college-level Latin and Greek courses at Brooklyn College while still there. During college my interest and passion in these languages and cultures was unparalleled. I founded the school’s first Classics club, took almost exclusively upper-level and graduate literature courses in Latin and ancient Greek and studied oral Latin and Latin sight reading through a rigorous summer program in Rome taught by the Pope's head Latin secretary. I won departmental honors in both Latin and Greek and graduated cum laude in Classics with a concentration in Greek and Latin literature from a university known for its Classics department. My passion for sharing knowledge and tutoring and teaching these subjects began as a high school student during my time taking Latin courses at Brooklyn College when I helped older classmates with their coursework. During college, I worked in my school's Educational Opportunity Program to help students compose and edit their papers for their remedial English classes. After graduating, I obtained a yearlong appointment teaching Latin at a public high school and attended a national conference of Latin teachers and scholars to learn different methods and approaches to teaching Latin. I have been tutoring Latin and ancient Greek in my spare time to people ranging from curious middleschoolers to retirees for the past 10 years. This past year I decided to expand my business and pursue my passion for sharing Latin and ancient Greek full-time. Although the civilizations of the people who spoke and wrote in these languages is thousands of years old, the study of ancient Rome and ancient Greece has a lot to offer us in today’s world. That I firmly believe.
