Education

Middlebury College - BA, English and American Literatures

Experience

I have a bachelor's degree from Middlebury College, where I majored in American Literature and English. Creative Writing was my concentration. After I graduated, I spent a year in Thailand as a Fulbright Scholar, teaching at a public high school. I taught sophomores and juniors English as a Foreign Language. When I came back to the U.S., I moved to New York. My teaching experience includes Gender Identity and Creative Writing workshops at a Yale summer program, theatre classes for elementary students, and public speaking and EFL classes for refugees in Burlington, Vermont. In all of these experiences, I have learned that by focusing on languages, grammar, writing, reading, editing, and communication, I am a better teacher. I live in Brooklyn, and would look forward to the opportunity to help a student find the approach that is best for them. In my spare time, I like to sing, read, write poetry, and play the ukulele. I enjoy Thai food, practicing a new foreign language, and spending time with friends.
