Experience
I received a dual master's degree, achieving a near-perfect grade point average. My time management skills are excellent and I am very organized, which I put to work in service of my students. My teaching and tutoring background includes five years of individual instruction and more than two years teaching in a private school, where I worked with groups of 6-12 students. I have worked with students ranging from grade school through adult business people, and can employ different approaches depending upon the student's goals. When teaching Chinese, I am an advocate of teaching across five disciplines: Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, and Culture Comprehension. I grew up in Beijing, and am a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese. In addition to Mandarin Chinese, I assist students with ESL/ELL, preparation for TOEFL, the SAT Subject Test in Chinese with Listening, and a variety of other courses. My non-language-related areas of expertise include Advertising, Business, International Business, Marketing, Graphic Design, and Technology and Computer Science. When I'm not working, I enjoy photography, hiking, swimming, and going to the movies.
