Experience

I have an undergraduate degree from New York University's School of Individualized Study. Yes, I designed and completed a degree plan for myself. The focus was on Creative Process, Performance, and Play. The theatre, music, and philosophy were woven into it as well. After I graduated, I moved to Brooklyn, New York so that I could put my creativity to work. Currently, I work as a tutor and a stagehand. I can tutor many different subjects, but I love Writing, Literature, and English. Working on writing with students is the most fun. Every thing that is written, even something academic, has the potential to have some creativity in it. Writing helps me understand my students because they must put some of themselves into the words. If you spoke with those who I have tutored, they would say that I am even-handed, patient, and playful. I want my students to learn in an atmosphere that encourages risk-taking and has no repercussions if a mistake is made. They get enough of that from life and school. In my spare time, I like watch television, play guitar, cook, and sometimes play video games.
