Experience
I earned my bachelor's degree in sociology from Trinity College, and recently graduated with my master's degree in liberal arts from CUNY Graduate School and University Center. I began tutoring during my undergraduate years, when I studied abroad in Cape Town, South Africa. There, I served as a volunteer reading and language tutor in prisons and schools. I also experienced the culture of South Africa through tours and discussions with local artists. This experience shaped the way I see learning, and I enjoy sharing my unique perspective with my students. As a tutor, I like to show my students that learning strengthens your ability to live a quality life and gives you many more opportunities to choose from. I am capable of tutoring students of all ages in reading, writing, grammar, phonics, public speaking, social studies, and social sciences. I can also help IB- and AP-level students taking history, philosophy, psychology, and anthropology courses. I love helping my students become active learners, master challenging concepts, and achieve their academic goals.When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy reading, writing, street art, and listening to many different types of music.
