Experience

I graduated from Amherst College with a BA in Political Science and Spanish Literature. While at Amherst, I spent my summers teaching adolescent students from a wide range of incomes and backgrounds. As a native speaker of Spanish I'm a great resource for ESL/ELL students, and students of Spanish at all levels. I also love to teach Literature and History, and to help students prepare for the SAT, LSAT, and other standardized testing. In addition, I'm a great resource for students seeking help in a wide array of subjects at the high school and college level. I really enjoy helping others to build the necessary skills to succeed, in the classroom as well as in the greater world. I especially love to see the results at work: to witness the moment a student "gets it", the moment it "clicks" in their head. I always am inspired by that. As a tutor, I approach the individual student, assess their personal learning style, and develop a plan based on their requirements. Engaging and keeping the student interested is key, in my experience, to knowledge retention and academic progress. On my own time, I enjoy reading, playing soccer with my friends, and living the unglamorous life of a die-hard Jets fan!
