Private tutor in Brooklyn, NY
Wesleyan University - BA, French & College of Letters (History/English/Philosophy)
I'm a graduate from Wesleyan University with a BA in French Studies who makes their home in Brooklyn, New York. I also hold a College of Letters designation. This program includes the study of philosophy, as well as English history. While in college, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Paris. During that time, I gained tutoring experience working with school-aged children. In my college years, I was employed as an ESL teacher. This work involved providing assistance to a newly arrived immigrant from Morocco. I was able to help him find employment and become a citizen. I enjoy helping students by offering tutoring services in ESL/ELL, English, French, Reading, Writing, Test Prep, SAT, Social Studies, and more. My approach to learning is to help students think about their subject from new and different points of view. Besides teaching, I would say that my biggest fascination is with music. During college, I worked as a music director for my school's radio station. Currently, I work for Afropop Worldwide. I wear two hats as both a producer and a staff writer for a radio show playing African music. When I'm not working or tutoring students, I enjoy reading and watching independent films. While I do love the city, I like to get out into nature to go on a hike. While I'm home, I keep fit by biking as often as I can.
