Ashley A.
Private tutor in Brooklyn, NY
Education
Received my B.S. in Communications at Northwestern University in 2012. Also minored in Creative Writing, as well as Psychology.
Experience
Ever since beginning school, I have shown a proclivity for writing and English. I scored 740 on my verbal SAT and 720 on the essay portion. At Northwestern, I received a well-rounded liberal arts education but was also lucky enough to be accepted to their prestigious creative writing program. I have three younger siblings who have all depended on my help with their English and literature assignments over the years as well as with their college application essays. My skills with language and grammar are the driving force of my life and my career. I am an editorial assistant at a rising publishing house in mid-town Manhattan, where I edit, revise, proofread, and write copy on a daily basis.

Hobbies
I love to read and write and I love to inspire others to explore the arts. I've studied theatre, music, writing, and psychology in great breadth and depth throughout my life. As the oldest of four kids, teaching and relating to younger individuals comes naturally to me. I'm patient, articulate, and fun. I know how to speak to younger students without condescending or belittling them. I believe that kindness, respect, empathy, and enthusiasm are the keys to a successful student-tutor relationship. My primary interest in tutoring is to help students with their papers and college application essays.
