Experience
As an English major, specializing in Literary Theory at Hunter College, I developed superior writing skills and began helping classmates fine-tune their essays and projects as well as prepare for mid-terms and finals. In time, I branched out and began editing on a freelance basis. As a graduate of the Humanities honors program at Midwood High School, I also learned excellent standardized test-taking skills and have since developed strategies that have allowed me to transmit these skills to students- achieving great end results. My primary areas of interest and expertise are Social Studies, ESL, English, Spanish and World History. I am passionate about fostering critical thinking skills in my students. The "a-ha" moments of discovery and lasting understanding are what I find so rewarding about the field of education. I am also fluent in Spanish (written and spoken) and am currently employed at an International Baccalaureate language immersion school (Nursery-8th Grade).
