Private tutor in Brooklyn, NY
Long Island University-Brooklyn Campus - Bachelor of Science, Biology , Columbia University in the City of New York - PhD, Science Education
After I finished my Bachelor of Science in Biology, I started out as a math/science teacher. After that I decided to go for my master's in Teaching and Learning, Biology, and then later obtained my PhD in Science Education. I not only teach students, I also tutor them, and also help other teachers in professional development. I have worked as a tutor from kindergarten ages up to 8th grade and assisted in preparing for exams, mathematics, science, reading, and writing, and also more specifically with biology, earth science, and algebra. I really like tutoring and teaching math and science, mostly because we carry these learned skills with us for life. I truly love it when a student has an "ah-ha" moment and they really start understanding the material. I think that by guiding each student while learning any subject and also for them to learn certain concepts on their own is very rewarding. When I'm not teaching, I like to travel all over the world and explore other cultures. Some of the places I have been to are Egypt and India, and in the future I hope to visit the Seven Wonders of the World. I also love art, going to museums, and enjoying the outdoors.
