Ithaca College - BA, Spanish

I received my Bachelor of Art in Spanish at Ithaca College. After graduation, I began teaching English abroad in both San Juan and Spain. In total, I have four years of experience in teaching English to elementary students, young adults, and adults. I believe that it is important to learn new languages, and that is why I enjoy tutoring in both ESL and Spanish. I prepare creative lessons for my students by designing activities specific to each students needs and wants. My experience as a tutor and a teacher has allowed me to work with a diverse group of students, and I am happy to modify my lessons or style as needed to meet the demands of each student. I speak English as my first language, which gives me insight to the best methods used to teach Spanish to native English speakers. In addition, I have taught with the Jolly Phonics System for elementary students. I also have experience in assessing and evaluating a student and their progress in order to prepare them for a variety of programs (First Certificate Cambridge Exams, Flyers, KET, Movers, Starts, and the Trinity). In my free time, I like to go to the movies, sing, read, act, learn languages, and gastronomy.
