Born and raised in Calgary, Canada, I decided that I wanted my college years to be something exciting and different. For this reason, I moved to the Middle East and studied at New York University Abu Dhabi, where I majored in literature and minored in social research, and I graduated magna cum laude. This incredible experience gave me the opportunity to study not only in Abu Dhabi, but also in Buenos Aires and Florence. I've been working as a tutor for almost as long as I've been a student. Back in Canada, I helped middle school children improve their understanding of social studies, math, and English. While in college, I helped a number of my peers prepare for upcoming tests, as well as major exams like the GRE. My specialties include teaching general studies and helping students prepare for standardized tests, but I especially love teaching history and English. As an educator, I like to help my pupils improve their academic skills through games, hands-on activities, and exercises that help them learn how to apply their knowledge outside of the classroom. I believe that the key to being an excellent teacher to be patient, understanding, and willing to customize your lesson for every individual student.
