I have a Biology degree from Manhattanville College. I majored in Biology as an aspiring science teacher, but I pursued a Music minor because I couldn't abandon my passion for music. Economics and English also became favorite subjects of mine that I continue to enjoy. While in college, I tutored a wide variety of school-level students and subjects. My tutoring areas include Mathematics, English (reading, writing, grammar, essays), Economics, and all science subjects. I also work with students on test prep for the SAT. Naturally, I focus on science, since I have the strongest academic qualifications and the most teaching experience in these subjects: Chemistry, Biology and Microbiology, Anatomy, Physics, and Astronomy.The tutoring approach I use is to break the material down into its basic concepts and use these as building blocks. I often see students frustrated with a subject because they have forgotten an essential idea or haven't mastered a certain skill. When the student can analyze and reiterate the main ideas, we can work through the problem. I don't jump in to help until the student needs some hints.Although my free time is limited, I love creative cooking, video games, and reading sci-fi.
