Hi, my name is Christian, and I grew up in Idaho. From there, I moved to New York City. I have lived and worked in Tokyo, Spain, France, New Mexico, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia. I earned my bachelor's degree in English, and I earned honors when I received my M.S. I published my first novel in 2010, and right now I am working on two books. The first book is on authentic teaching; the second is another work of fiction. Writing is my first love, and I enjoy teaching it to others. I mainly tutor in reading, writing, and grammar. I believe my vast knowledge and life experience give me the leading edge in working with a diverse group of students.My passion for teaching developed in a tenth-grade classroom, and now I enjoy tutoring. I feel that tutoring one on one gives me the opportunity to focus on that individual's needs, as opposed to focusing on several students at one time. I strive to give my students the confidence they need to succeed in whichever subject they require help learning. I believe that hard work is the key to success in academics, and I try to instill this in my students. Another key element to my teaching style is showing my students that they can trust and open up to me. Once a student learns to trust their teacher, they are more willing to learn. I can't wait to work with you to help you achieve your goals. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and writing.
