Experience
I earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from Wesleyan University, graduating with high honors. My experience in education spans eight years. During that time, I've been able to tutor English, history, science, math, and standardized test preparation. I also spent six months in India helping students learn English, and I've assisted adults in preparation for the US citizenship exam. When I work with students, I customize lesson plans to match their learning style. I recognize that every student learns differently, and if I can match the way they learn our sessions will be more productive, more efficient, and more fun for both of us. My tutoring specialties are the humanities and social sciences, but I'm also skilled at turnarounds for students who dislike or have anxiety about math or standardized tests. When I have some free time, I like to travel, get outdoors in nature for backpacking or climbing, practicing meditation, and soccer. I'm going to be studying for my doctorate in education at Harvard.
