I graduated from U. of Iowa with an MFA in English (actually in Creative Writing from the famous Iowa's Writer's Workshop), and from NYU, where I got my Dramatic Writing BFA. While in graduate school I tutored others in writing, and following that I worked at Tippie College of Business with its students as a Writing Consultant. My passions are Composition and English Lit, but I love to teach a wide variety of subjects. As a tutor I begin my work by considering the individual needs and goals of each student and creating a curriculum that is molded to that specific student. I think this preparation is the key to the road to success. I also believe that a core grounding in languages and writing is essential to grasping the basics of most other academic subjects.I tutor my students in such subjects as Reading, Writing, Essay Editing, Phonics, Literature, Grammar and Mechanics, College Essays, Advanced Placement English Language and Composition, Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition, Elementary Math, Middle School Math, English, and Math.When I'm not teaching or studying I like to read the classics, write, root for my team, the Miami Dolphins, and do the NYT crossword puzzle.
