I am a tutor who knows that empathy and being flexible are crucial to helping a young person achieve success in school and in life. My work as a director of actors and actresses taught me that being attentive and working in collaboration are keys to teaching and working through problems. I also learned that trial and error is perhaps the greatest teacher. I get a lot of satisfaction from helping others connect, form strategies, and find the right answers to questions. Listening to people and discovering what makes them tick is an essential part of determining how to help them learn - and a never-ending challenge.I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama and Italian at Vassar College, graduating with department and general honors. In Drama, I focused mainly on directing with some dabbling in performing, writing, and costuming. For Italian, I spent a semester taking courses at the University of Bologna, where I was a drill instructor for new students. After graduation, I won a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship and worked for a year in Sicily teaching English Language, Literature, Culture, and Theater to high school students. Along with being a tutor, I also direct and produce theater productions. I am an avid runner and enjoy the cultural life of New York City.
