Private tutor in Brooklyn, NY
University of Virginia - BA, English and French
I graduated with distinction from the University of Virginia, where I earned a bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in poetry writing and a bachelor's degree in French. After graduation, I taught at the American Montessori International School and worked at "The St. Petersburg Times" in St. Petersburg, Russia. I currently reside in Brooklyn, New York, and work as a freelance writer. I began tutoring in high school, and continued tutoring throughout my undergraduate career. I've worked with students of all ages on a wide variety of subjects, including reading, writing, literature, grammar, French, and Russian. I can also help students who are preparing for standardized tests like the ACT, ASPIRE, PSAT, and SAT. I have experience working with ESL students, too. I'm most passionate about helping students with their writing and communication skills. Working one-on-one with students is a great way to help them build a solid foundation of writing fundamentals, which are essential to becoming a confident communicator. I find it incredibly rewarding to help my students improve their writing and speaking skills. In my spare time, I'm working on learning my fourth language: Spanish. I also teach ballroom dance, write poetry, and travel.
