I hold a Bachelor of Arts with a focus in Theater and Education from Northwestern University's School of Communications. Since graduation, I have worked at the Rubin Museum of Art as an educator. My tutoring style is based upon understanding and personalization. Every student has a different style; some are visual learners, some are auditory learners, others are kinesthetic learners. I do my best to tailor every lesson to fit each student's unique needs. I believe teachable techniques like organization and mental strategy are the foundation of academic excellence. Though content retention is vital, the way in which we view the questions that are asked and how we understand the test's format are also essential to success, particularly when preparing for standardized testing. As a tutor, I want to lead my students toward a deep understanding of the test's underlying structure and goals. To achieve this, I use cutting-edge mindfulness, awareness, and associative memory techniques to guide my students toward subject mastery, higher academic confidence, and reduced stress. I specialize in college admissions coaching, SAT, SSAT, and SAT II prep for Math, Literature, Verbal, and Writing. I am also able to tutor any K-8 subject, plus High School History, Literature, Writing, and English. When I'm not tutoring, I like to compose music, practice yoga, and write, perform, and direct theater.
