Private tutor in Brooklyn, NY
University of Wisconsin - Madison - BA, Russian
I graduated from one of the nation's top 25 public universities, the University of Wisconsin. I earned my degree in Russian, with minors in international business and integrated liberal studies. I also earned my certificate of tutoring ESL from the Madison Literacy Council. I have used my education, by living in Russia, where I worked in business, and also taught and tutored. I've worked with youth of all ages, and even adults. I've taught in classroom settings, as well as conducted private individual tutoring. My strengths are subjects based in logic, which includes anything from reading comprehension to analytical reasoning and philosophy. I also have experience teaching English as a Second Language, and have a good record helping students prepare for standardized tests, such as the ACT, SAT, GMAT, LSAT, and TOEFL, among others. I'm not one to spoon feed my students. I enjoy guiding them as they discover new ideas and concepts themselves. I assist them with any barriers they face, and lead them on the path to understanding. I also like to show my students how knowledge can apply to all areas of life, and inspire their curiosity. I continue my own education in curriculum design and learning systems. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading about modern science, and photography.
