Experience
I went to Florida Atlantic University to earn my secondary English education degree. I also became certified in English as a second language and English for middle school and high school students. I'm now also certified as an English language arts teacher. I've been teaching language arts at the middle school level since I graduated from Florida Atlantic University. When I work with a student, I like to guide them along the path and help them develop a love for learning. I provide encouragement and support along the way, I help them develop confidence in their abilities. I can tutor students in any English and language arts areas, but I like helping students become better writers and improve reading comprehension the best. When students enjoy reading, they tend to immediately become better learners. I also believe writing is very important skill for success as a student, because it gives them the opportunity to convey ideas and thoughts as they intend. When I have free time, I like to cook vegetarian food, play at the park with my dog, and read. Other interests include botany and writing.
