I have experience in teaching students of all age groups in both private and classroom settings. I particularly love to teach foreign language because life becomes more interesting when you are able to experience the rich cultures and lifestyles outside of your native language. In addition to working on grammar and exercises, I incorporate less structured time in my tutoring sessions for students to work on conversational skills in a more natural environment.My educational background in school counseling has provided me with strong skills in identifying possible causes to a student's struggles in learning and the ability to provide methods to overcome their challenges. I am able to personalize my teaching methods to meet the needs of each individual student, whether they are bored, disorganized, or frustrated. I strive to build relationships with my students because they will be more willing to make progress by taking risks when they are comfortable in the learning environment.I earned my B.A. in Political Science at Hunter College, my M.A. in International Relations at Johns Hopkins University, and I am a recent graduate of Brooklyn College with a M.S. Ed. in School Counseling. I spent a year studying abroad in France.Some of my personal interests are cooking, learning new languages, and taking dance lessons.
