Education

Amherst College - BA, English

Experience

I attended Amherst College for my bachelor's degree in English. I've had the opportunity to tutor students since I was a high school student, I've help students learn math, economics, reading comprehension, writing, English literature, and test preparation for the ACT and SAT. When I work with students, I focus on helping them build fundamental understandings of the base concepts in a topic, but I also focus on helping students become confident in their abilities to learn. In a tutoring session, I will utilize interesting and fun examples to demonstrate and explain concepts. Learning happens best when students are having fun. I also help students develop study and time management skills, which I believe are very important to success. I believe students can do more than they may realize, and I'm excited to bring that out of the students I work with. When I have free time, I enjoy writing, listening to music, cooking, and reading.
