Private tutor in Brooklyn, NY

Education

I'm currently getting my PhD in mechanical engineering at Stony Brook University. My BSc is in aerospace, so I know a fair amount of physics, specially fluid dynamics.

Experience

I've been teaching since first grade at elementary school. Basically the first day that I learnt something I started teaching it to my friends. As a kid I knew our language better than an adult teacher and I've been trying to keep the skill and ability to communicate in simple words up to this day. In the past 10 years, I've taught different topics in math and physics to kids as young as middle school and as senior as college students. I've also taught large classes at college and high schools and for after school programs. My hourly rate is $70 for an 90min session but I'm willing to do sliding scale ($45-60) for students with modest means.

Availability

Tues/Thurs at any time, Wednesday after 3PM, Friday after 3PM, Saturday at any time, Sunday at any time

Can Meet

Up to 30 minutes away for no additional charge, Up to 1 hour away at my regular hourly rate

Hobbies

Doing a PhD can be very demanding but I make sure to leave time for playing my cello, exercising a fair amount, and catching up on the recent political events around the world and the literature that I enjoy.
