My name is Teddy A. Balema (but I prefer to be called Teddy), I graduated from college with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Bard College (one of the most rigorous colleges offering a liberal art education). I was born in the Sudan, lived 5 years in Italy, 8 years in China, 5 years in Ethiopia and currently living in Brooklyn (after completing my undergraduate education). While I was an undergrad student, I was in charge of mentoring younger students in chemistry and lab techniques/protocols; I was often mentoring an average of 4-5 students a semester. Not only that in my spare time I also tutored many students (including my former dorm mates) in subjects such as chemistry, organic chemistry, calculus (I & II), pre-calculus, French, history (Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia). I also am a prospective medical school student and believes that this opportunity maybe a good learning experience especially in my preparation for medical school, right now I am in the final stages of my medical school applications.
