Hobbies
I am a social psychologist who recently obtained my Ph.D. from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. I have taught Quantitative Methods at the university level since 2008. In teaching statistics I have found it beneficial for the student to focus on developing a conceptual understanding of the topic. Once a conceptual understanding of statistics is developed it becomes easier to understand the various statistical formulas used and complete the computations correctly. In terms of specific statistical analyses I am well versed in probability theory, null hypothesis testing, the general linear model (e.g., linear regression, multiple regression, ANOVA, ANCOVA), chi-square, and principal components analysis. My psychological interests include moral psychology, political psychology, and understanding the psychological bases of prejudice and conflict. In my free time I enjoy playing ice hockey at various ice rinks in the New York-New Jersey area as well as applying statistical analysis to the National Hockey League.
